WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE SOLIS FARM TOUR
Alternative Building and Sustainable Living is a lifestyle. Our mission is to conduct our farms in a manner that reduce our carbon footprint and use the earth's natural resources. You will enjoy Live Music, Activities for kids, Food, Vendors, Speakers, Raffles, and a Bike Challenge. Pasture raised poultry, pork (Farwig Farm) and organically grown produce and other farm items, will be for sale (please bring a cooler). Please visit each Farms site for specific farm details.
FARM FRESH FOOD
Be sure and visit each farm’s site on items available for purchase… ranging from poultry, pork, and organically grown produce. Please bring a cooler. Solis Farm will also have some awesome food vendors on site using farm fresh ingredients to purchase when your belly starts saying “Get in my Belly!”
ATTENDANCE RAFFLE PRIZES
All farm tour attendees have a chance to win $50 (Cash Prize). Just pick up a Farm Tour Card at the first Farm visited- get it stamped by all three farms and your name goes into a drawing for a chance to win some extra cash. Raffle Tickets will also be for sale at Solis Farm for some really awesome prizes, with proceeds going to benefit the local food pantry. Help us, help those in need.
ROCK THE BIKE CHALLENGE
Have you ever made peanut butter while riding your bike? For those that have what it takes, we are hosting a Rock the Bike - Pedal Powered Peanut Butter challenge. The cost is $25, and the proceeds will be donated to the Food Pantry
Solis Farm anticipates on having several Alternative Buildings available for touring – Cordwood, Stawbale Garden Drying Cottage, Container House, Energy Efficient Green House, and an Earthbag/Shelter. Come check out the demonstration of Solar Box Heaters- making your home more comfortable in those cold months and utility bills affordable. Hope to see you in the country, come to Bourbon! Make sure and also check out “Silver Seed Farms” in Leasburg, Missouri, they have the oldest strawbale house in Missouri.
Enjoy bluegrass with a rock twist from the Woodshine Band. Woodshine is a high energy group and they are sure to get your feet moving!
Seed Tick Ridge & Friends perform a line-up mix of Bluegrass, Old-Time country Classics with a mix of original tunes. The Seed Tick Ridge trio have been singing and playing music together as a family since 1995.
Bring the kids and enjoy a fun filled day in the country, gardening activities, coloring, bounce house and more.

Will be speaking on “Time Banking”, a reciprocity-based work trading system in which hours are the currency. With time banking, a person with one skill set can bank and trade hours of work for equal hours of work in another skill set instead of paying or being paid for services.

Kids Garden Zone -Face Painting- Bounce House-Coloring Veggies of the Garden- Planting Seeds (Flower/Veggie) they will get to take home to watch it grow. Enjoy snow cones, a bounce house, face painting, and the Strike A Pose Photo Booth.
